Q:

Do I need to teach classes at Cornerstone Lower Tier?

A:

All participating parents are required to teach at least one semester each year.  New members usually will not be needed to teach until the following year.  Any member with a child under six months of age will be exempt from teaching.

Q:

Do I need to monitor (or help) in classes at Cornerstone Lower Tier?

A:

Yes.  All classrooms with children between nursery and 6th grade are required to have two adults present: one teacher and one monitor.  Choir classes will usually require three adults: the teacher, an accompanist and a monitor.  If possible, teachers will not be required to monitor during the semester that they are teaching.

Any member with a child under six months of age will be exempt from monitoring.

Q:

How often do I have to monitor on class days?

A:

The number of monitor spots each member will need to fill each semester is dependent on the number of participating families and the number of classes each semester.

Q:

How do the directors communicate with the members?

A:

Email is the main form of communication especially when classes are not in session.  During the school year the directors generally send a weekly email newsletter.  During class days the directors will usually be available in the parent area unless they are teaching or monitoring.

The directors count on member families to read the newsletter and any other pertinent emails and respond as needed.
